For teams, managers and cross-functional groups

Psychological safety

Build trust in ways that work for your people, culture and organisation.

Discuss your priorities

Why this matters

Trust is built in context.

A familiar invitation to speak up can carry very different risks in different settings. TACT works with the relationships, cultural expectations and organisational practices that determine whether people trust that invitation, and what happens when they accept it.

What participants do

We use facilitated inquiry, fictional scenarios and behavioural rehearsal to explore how people invite contributions, respond to disagreement and mistakes, and make decisions. Participants examine the effect of their choices and practise responses that preserve dignity while allowing important issues to be addressed.

What the work supports

  • Invite contribution and make space for different perspectives
  • Respond to challenge, uncertainty and mistakes with curiosity
  • Combine openness with clear standards and accountability

Programme options

A team workshop or an element of leadership, inclusion or culture development. Design begins with the situations in which openness and learning matter to your work.

Shaped around your context

The routes to trust between individuals and trust in the organisation may differ. We examine expectations around authority, respect, reputation and relationships, then connect interpersonal practice with how concerns are heard, decisions are explained and accountability is exercised.

Cultural judgement

Different settings.
Different routes to trust.

Our experience spans Western workplaces and settings where hierarchy, power distance and honour shape how people challenge, consult and maintain respect. We pay attention to who speaks, how and when, and what a response communicates about status and belonging.

The design starts with the people and organisation in front of us. We examine each team’s expectations and practices directly, including how people contribute through formal, informal and collective channels.

TACT’s approach is informed by Cal O’Neill’s research and practice on psychological safety within a Saudi utility employing around 30,000 people. That experience brings attention to both individual relationships and the organisational conditions on which trust depends.
